The President of the Board position needs to be filled beginning July 1, 2007 for a 1-year term. The job description is as follows:

  • Meet with Minister and Vice president monthly to set agenda and discuss issues
  • Communicate with the Minister as needed via phone and e-mail
  • Formulate and distribute Board meeting agenda
  • Run monthly Board meetings and oversee completion of action items from same
  • Write monthly article for Voices
  • Encourage and support lay leaders to carry out their work
  • Coordinate the process for and write the Minister’s evaluation
  • Attend Clara Barton District fall and spring rallies (not a specific job of President, but helpful in a number of ways)
  • Plan annual Board retreat in consultation with the Minister and District Executive
  • Deal with Congregational issues as they arise (scholarship, lead/painting, post office box, by-law changes, etc. )
  • Receive/answer emails (approx. four out of seven days per week)
  • Write welcome article for UUSGU web site.
  • Write and deliver Annual Report to Congregation
  • Organize and run annual Congregational meeting
Items that can be delegated:
  • Attend committee council meetings
