Welcome from the new minister:

Hello Friends!

Thank you for visiting the website of Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton & Upton: gathered to nurture spiritual and intellectual growth, to practice compassion, and to serve. Since 1731 we’ve been a vital spiritual center of liberating thought, feeling and action. Today, we are a growing and vibrant congregation that proudly affirms and promotes the worth and dignity of all people and that respects the interconnected web of all existence.

Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion—that is, a religion that keeps an open mind to the religious questions people have struggled with in all times and places.  We believe that personal experience, conscience and reason should be the final authorities in religion, and that in the end religious authority lies not in a book or person or institution, but in ourselves.

Known as “the church of the open minds, the loving hearts and the helping hands,” we place deeds before creeds.  We are a community of seekers and lovers of soulful engagement, made up of families of all sorts: justice-makers, music enthusiasts, pilgrims of the intellect, caregivers, and out loud and proud progressive, religious people. We are committed to the abiding principles that the human family is one and that the love that binds us is greater than the fears that divide us.

Here we say “Come as you are.” And we mean it. We welcome your color, your creed, and your abilities. We welcome your sexual orientation, your age and your politics. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your life journey, there is a place for you here.

Join us any time. Come, nurture your spirit. Help heal our world.

Faithfully yours,

Reverend Roger C. Peltier
